I've Been Standing at a Crossroad
I've been standing at a crossroad,
seeking the way home.
Where Jesus Christ is waiting;
bidding, "Come my child, come!"
One road leads to Jesus,
the other leads to Hell.
Which road leads to Jesus,
how am I to tell?
Tradition paves the one road;
familiar rituals lead the way.
The other holds the promise,
of a brighter, blessed day.
Yes, I'm standing at a crossroad.
Help me, Lord to know
which road will bring me to you;
on which path shall I go?
Anguished years I've stood there
praying,
then a dear friend took my hand.
She led me down the right road,
as I reached for Jesus' hand.
Now, I've left behind traditions;
empty rituals set aside.
Now I'm on the road to Jesus;
in His love I shall abide!
